You just need the normal cable to fit the 16 pin OBD-II connector.

It seems like the MiniVCI's sold on ebay are the cheapest option for a powerful diagnostic tool for the Prius, with the disadvantages being that the software is probably pirated, and only runs on XP. I seem to have found sellers that claim to have version 10 software that will run on Windows 7 and 8. Anybody have any experience with these?

EDIT: further research suggests that even version 10 still only supports XP 32-bit.

Roy from Canada here - I have an old xp computer that I have set up with techstream - I had trouble trying to install the software unless your windows xP computer has to have SP2 or higher upgrade for the software to work.

I also have a computer with windows 7 installed - I purchased the newest version of techstream (version 10) and found it installed OK but you have to follow the supplied instructions for modifing techstream files very closely - if you are a good computer wizard it may be simple - for me it was hard and I had to redo the process many times.

Their are 2 versions of cables available, the original version 1 was good for the older cars, the newer version 2 covers all newer cars plus the old ones.

If you have a windows 7 computer buy the software for version 10 with the cable version 2.

    Best of luck
