That's a wild ground electrode design. Miss the Bosch Ir Fusion line now that they're discontinued. Hope they work well for you. What was wrong with the original set? moto g(7) power ?
I was getting misfires but that ended up being the original ignition coils. I just wanted something else to do to the prius so I sent them in under warranty. What I have in the prius now is the Bosch Double Iridium and will upload what they look like after however many miles it has been. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Can anyone direct me to a third party, head to head sparkplug test of all the different gimmick plugs vs OEM? Just curious to see actual, independant results.....
I'm reminded of SplitFire. Some name brand manufacturers have developed multi-ground electrode plugs with similar kernel propagation properties in mind... moto g(7) power ?
EXCEPT that you need to be able to sort out the biased or totally inadequate methods......and what is left will be little or nothing. A spark is a spark is a spark. The number of available electrodes for it to jump to has absolutely NO bearing on how the spark works. Snake oil can look like a spark plug too.

That's true, as far as it goes. It's still a spark. But the number of electrodes has a significant effect on how the plug works in operation. It has more places to jump to, so each place is used less, meaning longevity. However, that has its own negative consequences on engine smoothness. You are also correct that E3 and similar multi-electrode products are all snake oil and marketing: Spark plug with four ground electrodes, type-C This type of spark plugs was introduced by different manufactures primarily to extend spark plug durability. It is clear that there is a higher rate of combustion variability when this spark plug was used. This is explained firstly by increased contact area and heat transfer to the ground electrodes in the initial period of flame kernel growth. Secondly, it is well known that as a spark channel forms between the two spark electrodes, the local resistance increases as the localized temperature grows due to the energy flow during the spark event. After a few sparks, the local resistance becomes high enough to cause the spark to seek paths with less resistance and this moves the spark channel around over a series of sparks to prevent the “arc welding”. Still so much BS. Unless the ignition system produces about 100X the voltage actually needed to jump a .035 gap, AND applies it instantaneously, there will still be only ONE spark. The number of potential destinations for that spark is MEANINGLESS for performance purposes. It might last longer.......unless the center electrode burns away first.
It’s not multiple sparks, it’s the fact that the flame can propagate straight into the center of the chamber vs wrapping itself around the single center ground electrode. A more complete burn....
Again I say BS. A conventional plug will create a flame propagation front that essentially goes outward in all directions because of the slight deflection of the center electrode. There is no "wrapping around". The additional flame area makes for a more efficient burn, not less. BUT.....the dynamics of the shape of the combustion chamber and the valves makes a LOT more difference than the positioning of the spark.
Yeah, I can't imagine why anyone would say that. The fact that you picked their logo for your avatar is just a coincidence. Besides, if you worked for E3, that would interfere with your job promoting Green Bean. Or maybe these are both part-time gigs.
I wish during these times that I could get paid but I am not working for any of the companies I mention. I wonder if I said I got a part at Autozone they would say I work there too. Anyone want to see what the Bosch plugs look like check out my other thread on them with pictures.
We have a 2008 BMW 335 with N54 engine. Bosch plug is ZGR6STE2. I guessed they picked that design for absolutely no good reason, because it's BS as you say. moto g(7) power ?
