I've got a new DVD to use for my Navigation but the DVD tray doesn't open. What are the steps to open the tray for DVD replacement?
I realize this replies to a really old post, but some folks may land here looking for an answer to how to open the DVD reader. The Nav DVD reader is under the drivers seat. It doesn't have a tray, but a slot where the DVD is inserted or ejected. To get to the reader, stand next to the car and move the driver's seat all the way forward. Then, with the car ON or on ACC (push the ON button twice, no foot on brake), get down in the back seat floor board and push the two latches on the rear-facing cover on the DVD reader to remove the cover and access the DVD slot. After taking off the cover, look for a textured slide button on the left end of the unit; everything's black, so it may be hard to see. In the normal, closed position, the slider is toward the center of the unit. Push the grooved slider button in slightly and slide it fully to the left. The DVD slot will open, then the DVD reader should eject the DVD disc after a few seconds. You can take out the DVD disc to clean it, or to replace the DVD with an updated one. To reload the disc, just slide the DVD part-ways into the slot, and the reader will pull the DVD in the rest of the way. Then slide the slider back to the right to close the slot, and snap the cover back on, adjust the driver's seat, and you're on your way.
Thank you also. Just to make the information international friendly for where Prii are RHD, the nav DVD reader is still under the LH front seat.
