So I have a 2008 prius with 177,500 miles and recently I’ve been having problems with the drivers door locking and unlocking. At first it was intermittent but now it’s every time. The button to lock the car on the car’s handle isn’t working, the sensors to unlock the door on the handle are broken as well. If I use the key fob all doors lock and unlock as they should, with the exception of the drivers door. Any recommendations? We have owned the car since we got it in 2008, and it hasn’t been having any sort of problems till recently. I just need some help as to how I should go about this problem. Is it something I can repair or is it more of a dealership issue. Thanks!

sounds like you need a new lock motor. there are some detailed threads on this. remove the interior panel, and you will see the motor. you can replace it (expensive) or repair it (tricky).

But when it comes to the features such as the keyless lock and unlock, is there anything I can do about that

Yes. A working lock motor/actuator is required. Repair or replace the driver side lock motor/actuator, all will be well.
