DRCC won't come on

I was doing a long 1200 km trip. DRCC worked flawlessly for about 800 km. Then came slush/snow. Noticed DRCC was starting to not see the car ahead. Then it completely lost the car and Prius said "clean radar sensor".
I cleaned the Toyota emblem completely, which was covered with a sheet of frozen slush, but DRCC still fails to see the car ahead and after multiple tries Prius says "Check cruise control system". I also cleaned upper part of windshield which apparently can be an issue?
The regular (non-radar) cruise control works fine.
Are the sensors for DRCC *only* behind the Toyota emblem? I noticed the square on the passenger side of front bumper is slightly indented on one edge. I could have done that when I cleaned the bumper of frozen slush, I'm not sure (I just bought the car). I'm not sure what sensor that is, or if it any way would affect DRCC operation.
Any ideas what to try next?
