So that 05 Gen 2 has had battery replacement or whack-a-mole goings-ons? So the 05 is on the original battery and it's what now 15 years and still going strong you're a long way from replacing it really That's good to know I find that quite interesting usually between 10:00 and 14 years the battery is fall on their face I mean like stranded type fall on their face so if none of this applies to you you're doing extremely well in the '05 the generation 3 they generally seemingly fail even earlier and way less miles I have both here and that's what I've seen and stuff I have here and have worked on between the two vehicles.

My drive battery (2008, 216,000 mi) showed all the signs of failing including triangle of death, low gas mileage and lower power . Funny thing is that i removed the service plug and cleaned the fan per YouTube and replaced the service plug and the triangle went out and mileage improved from 29 mpg to 47mpg. I already had my heart set on the lithium kit and so I bought it expecting higher gas mileage and more power. I watched the YouTube video over and over until I just knew I could install it myself and so I did. Wasn't as easy as he may it look but I really enjoyed the challenge and got'er done. The guy at NexPower was really helpful and I provided him with a few chuckles when I got a part backwards and called him to see why it did;t seem to fit right. There is a really nice guy named Chris that owns Reprius here in Bakersfield and he has saved me a lot of money. Looking back I wished I had let him install the kit instead of trying to save the $300 he would have charged me. Peace of mind and all that.
I can feel a lot more power but my mileage has not improved, in fact not as good as it was. On a recent trip I got 45 mpg.
I am now suspecting my service plug of being faulty.
Chris was on vacation when I installed the lithium kit but an employee scanned the car after I installed the kit and did not find any codes. I have a appointment to see him tomorrow about the catalytic converter replacement and I am going to get him to let me try one of his service plugs.
I have always done most of my own work. Getting too old to do much anymore. 74 and not in good shape but had fun with this kit.
    Sorry for rambling so much.

i think the service plug either works or it doesn't. might just take the car some time to relearn things.
how many miles on the new battery

Yeah I'll keep following this to see what's up I was too interested in the lithium project and all that business but when it came time to buy a battery for my daily driven '09 near 120 mi a day I just thought it would be smart to buy the battery that I already had last 13 years at the time or right close to it I didn't have time to be taking chances with folks things were playing with on the weekends basically. And at the time there was no stock pandemic was just starting prices hadn't gone up so my Toyota battery was only like $1,400 The project lithium was still about two grand so I just wasn't sure and I needed the car more than I needed an undocumented battery and to be playing with my electrical system in the vehicle that I use everyday that I don't really want to get out of but I don't want to spend and play round and round games with replacing a lot of stuff batteries included. even when I went from my failing staying magenta colored old battery to the brand new Toyota battery My mileage didn't jump back up hugely either like I thought it would I really couldn't tell a whole lot in the car driving other than the engine ice engine wasn't running all the time. And my mileage did go back up in a couple of weeks to ride around 47 which the car was advertised at 47.1 new for my '09. But people been telling me for years they regularly are seeing 50 plus miles to the gallon. I've never seen such antics in my life but I put close to 500 mi on a tank of gas sometimes right at it sometimes about 5:13-14. And I fill it up and it kicks off it right around 10 gallons but the gas mileage seems about right for an '08 45 somewhere right in there depending upon whether the car drives you or you drive the car makes a big difference using all this methodology here on the chat the push glide driving method and all this sort of business I haven't relegated myself to any of that yet I have places to go and things to do worrying about pushing and gliding the car We haven't got there yet. Probably won't. It makes sense that a more powerful battery could possibly help with gas mileage a little bit but if I'm going that route what I'd like to do is see how to get a larger electric motor coupled up to the one NZ original type Prius.
