I ordered door edge guards for my wifes 2012 Prius, they are a tight fit as they should be. Can I use soapy water or silicone to help them slide on? I don't want to damage the paint underneath.

I don't know the answer but you might get a response if you ask your question in the MODS sections of the model you have. :)

mild soapy solution should be fine... don't be afraid to be liberal about it.

Apparently you use the soft side of a mallet and have to use templates to know where to position them. This is not included in the package. got them from the accessory folks. They are a pressure fit. I still might use some soapy water

You need to buy a rubber mallet and hit per the instructions pretty hard to get it to seat properly. I would suggest not to use soap because it may not crip into place and stay there. This is what I had to do, just giving you my two cents.
