Does Your New Prius Live Outside or In?

One car garage at home, multi-level parking garage at work.

 

My new car lives in a two car garage, but I live in a more harsh climate area than you do.

 

Shares a car port w/ HyHi - open on 1 1/2 of the four sides; firewood storage boxes in part of that "1/2" side.

 

Outside, under a tree, by the ocean. God help this poor thing!

 

We are lucky enough to have a two-car garage, and I use a parking garage at work. My new Prius stays in except when on the road, pretty much. DC has nasty pollen and pollution everywhere, and there is construction near our house, causing serious dust. So, it definitely helps keep the Prius cleaner by garaging it.

Under the trees, your car takes on almost a greenish tint. I love it. It emphasizes the "green" nature of the vehicle. Thanks for posting the pic!

 

There should be an option for outside by night and inside by day.

I live in a condo without covered parking but work in a tower downtown.

 

If I were to name my Prius I would call it "Pampered" as I have a garage at my home and a garage where I work. Doesn't mean that she stays clean though. New England has slush and salt during the winter and pollen and dust in the Spring and Summer. At least I do not get the tree and bird "drippings" parking under a tree.

 

Mine lives outside, under power lines so birds can aim for the shiny thing and right next door to a Chinese food restaurant which spews small grease droplets from the chimney onto my car. I should probably move.
A few months ago, with my last car, my check engine light came on. When I took it to the Benz stealership they found that a rat from the restaurant's garbage heap had come over and climbed in to keep warm and had chewed thru an intake hose. Sure enough, if you check their food inspection reports it's full of rat reports. hwell:

 

OK, so techinically I won't have mine for a couple of weeks, but I have a VIN, so I'm considering myself an owner now! LOL

The new baby will be where my CR-V is now--garage at home and, unfortunately, under the Texas sun at work. Its big-sister, the CR-V, will get kicked out of the garage to the driveway until it gets a new home (hopefully soon!). I travel about once a month and realized that instead of using uncovered, cheap parking at the airport, I will now feel compelled to start using and offsite covered parking facility also. The thought of hail on the solar roof gives me nightmares.

 

My prius takes a backseat to my mustang. The pony gets the garage and the prius sits out in the rain.

 

Poll doesn't handle my case. Outside during night, in a garage during day (work). Only weekends when we are running errants is it outside day.

 

Offtopic, but CONGRATS!!!! I know the feeling having just gone through the process. Wait until the day the car comes in (you'll really have butterflies in your stomach).

 

The poll doesn't quite fit my situation:

We have a two-car garage and two cars. From about May through October, though, our beautiful new Prius gets to enjoy the out-of-doors 24/7. The Sienna (my wife's drive) gets garage privileges year 'round. In the warmer months the Prius-side of the garage is given over to bicycles, sports gear and gardening items not returned to the garden shed.

 

Carport while at home. I have another open parking space where I used to park the 05 cranberry but this horrid neighbor would slam her car doors into my car so hard that the alarm would go off, plus her kids would drag backpacks and such down the side of it.
At work it is all open but with these beautiful, tall pine trees. Beautiful but so very messy.
We are lucky enough to have a dedicated covered area for car washing so it isn't so hard to keep clean.

 

With all the rain we've had around here everything's got a sort of green tint to it!

 

My Prius lives in a garage at home and outdoors when I'm running errands. I feel my biggest challenge is finding cover in the late afternoons to avoid suffering hail damage. TK
