Does the gen 5 audio support playing FLAC files

    I’m about to get a 2024 Prime and I’m wondering whether the audio playback supports FLAC files. If it does, I’ve got a collection of CDs that I will rip.
    I’ve looked for a list of supported file types but I haven’t found one. Does such a list exist?

    FLAC is supported, apparently.

    There's a list in the multimedia manual. A quick summary of the Europe manual is:

    Audio formats: MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV (LPCM), FLAC, ALAC, Ogg Vorbis
    Video formats: H.264 or WMV9 in MPEG-4, AVI or WMV containers with MP3/AAC/WMA9.2 audio

    There are detailed specs in the appendix of the US Multimedia manual. For all supported formats (including FLAC ), supported sampling frequencies and quantization bit sizes are listed.

    It sounds like its safe for me to begin ripping my CDs to flac.

    Without having the car, yet, I don't have access to a manual. Its too bad that the list of supported file types is, apparently, not available elsewhere.

    Owners' manuals are even outside the paywall.
