Does Gen I have timing belt or chain?

I am new here and I trying to find out any information I can on whether the Gen I has a timing belt or a chain. I see posts for the Gen II. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mine has 134K on it and has not been changed as of yet. FYI, I also still have the original 12V battery and the battery pack has not been serviced and has been tested at the automotive school I worked at before they went out of business (late last year). I apologize in advance if the answer has already been covered and is here somewhere.

 

I had a feeling that it was a chain but wasn't sure. Thanks for the info.
