Does anyone have any idea where I can get a new vacuum cleaner belt? I have a Hoover upright, about 3 years old.

I'm not sure this qualifies as a "Prius Technical Discussion" topic, but to answer your question, there should be several vacuum and sewing machine sales and repair shops near you. They are actually surprisingly common. You should be able to find them in the yellow pages.

I got my Hoover belt at WalMart. They aren't hard to find.

A worn belt is all the excuse I'd need to replace it with a Dyson. B)

Sometimes the grocery store has belts and bags for the more common vacuum cleaner brands and models.

You can shop online for vacuum cleaner parts. I think Dave's Vacuum looks like it has the part you need.

Get one from your Toyota dealer, the price is a little higher but the quality is better.

For just about any vacuum cleaner part, try hescoinc.com. I was able to get a new retractable cord reel for a Hoover that hasn't been manufactured in probably fifteen years.

And Wth is this question doing in this forum?

I whole-heartedly agree! But... Don't get too disgusted after you see what you pull out of your carpet the first time you use it!

And don't leave until they get you the belt. Toyota dealers can be surprising stubborn when it comes to supplying Hoover vacuum cleaner parts.

It might also be helpful to tell them that you learned that Toyota dealers supply Hoover vacuum cleaner parts from PriusChat.com.
