Do you prefer carpet or rubber floormats?

I have the nice charcoal Prius Plus carpet floormats in addition to the Toyota all-weather rubber ones. I use the all-weather ones in the winter but thinking about just using them all year round.

    Thoughts?

One thing I don't like about carpet ones is how they tend to wear a hole in the pedal heel area.

i prefer the warmth of carpeting, but it does need to be replaced now and again. can you buy just the drivers side? i suppose if i were in and out of a lot of snow and slush, i would use rubber.

I don't think you can buy just the drivers side, which is a problem since the others don't wear nearly as fast, if at all.

I wore holes in all of my previous cars' carpet mats while the other 3 always looked perfect. Now I have the rubber ones and after a year and a half and 67k miles, the driver one is still holding on fine. I love that you can take them all out and wash them clean, just don't armor-all them too much
I had an old Nova I put black house carpet in and it felt great, almost wanted to drive in my socks. I'm debating cutting the same hind of carpet in the proper shapes and having them bound as custom mats.

Wishing I had picked up some Weathertechs prior to this winter. Ton of snow and freezing conditions mean my OEM carpet mats have gotten wet, froze and won't dry out until spring. I'll probably have to replace them. It isn't usually this bad.

Both. Rubber in winter. Carpets rest of the season. Was worried the rubber (Toyota factory) wouldn't be comfortable but they are.

They came with the car so I probably wouldn't have purchased them myself.

I am a firm believer in Weathertech floor mats - last four cars and a Weathertech user for the last 10+ years in all climates. In my experience, they outlast the car.

Rubber in winter and carpet in summer for me.

Love the Weathertech floormats. They never come out except to be cleaned, and it's a breeze. Well worth the investment. I didn't know about them until I bought the Pri and visited this site.

As my Pri was a couple of years dated when I bought them , got a deal off of Ebay.

It's great to be able to pull them out and hose them down form time to time.

Can't you get Prius carpet "over mats" in the States that protect areas that get a lot of hammer? We can buy a set of 4 that fit in the foot wells back and front. When they get dirty just lift em out shake and vacumn/shampoo them. Saves the original carpet getting holed and having to be replaced at big cost.....
