Do I need to reset TPM switch after replacing the 12V battery?

    I recently replaced the 12v battery. Prior to the installation of the new battery, the car was left without battery for 24 hours (ie. the old battery was removed from the car.)
    Do I need to press the TPM reset switch after a new battery is installed?

    I don't think the tire pressure monitors are affected by a battery swap.

    JC91006 is correct. The batteries for TPMS are built into each valve stem and have an average life of 6 to 8 years. Most tire companies will offer a TPMS rebuild when you get new tires which replaces gaskets and/or O-rings in the assembly, but not the battery itself.

    No, you don't need.

    the TPMS is monitored by your ECU.

    It couldn't hurt to reset, if you have your tire pressure where you like it, measured accurately.
    The reset button then stores that pressure as the set point.

    Then if any tire goes below ~20% that pressure you get the light.
