This just published 25 min video shows you how to install illuminated door sills on a 2020 PP. Does anyone have this now?

Look good! If I didn't have an aversion to taking apart my new car I would definitely try that. (y)

No. My dealer wouldn't install it because it was for a 2020 and not a 2018 (it wasn't offered in Canada until MY2020 even though you guys had it as an accessory since launch). I may have to take it to the US whenever this pandemic is over.

IMHO, for just protecting the paint on the sill $10 stick-on sill plate works better.

And why-oh-why doesn't that come standard?

Our 2010 CDN Touring came with illuminated sill plates. For quite some time I figured it was standard on our level, but apparently not? Seems like it had been prepped for someone with that accessory, then the sale fell through.

    Anyway, I'd second non-illuminated, I mean: it's a door sill, lol.

When you pay $200 for sill plates that come in shinny brushed metal finish, you gonna need a sill plate protector to place on top of it. I just took a look at our Pathfinder, which was the top of the line trim. Indeed, it has sill plate, but it is not illuminated. I don't know if the lower trims had the sill plate or not, but none of our other cars that I can remember had such thing.

How about every plastic trim/protection plate has the model name on it. I mean just in case you forget what you're in, lol.

Which Toyota removed for the Gen 4. What was wrong with that black plastic door sill protector anyway? Save costs I guess... just like how manufacturers removed the rear door courtesy light (or front ones in some cases... like the Corolla!) or back in the 90s when door panels had carpeting or some sot of kick panel that doesn't scuff. Or door panel inserts that were cloth or leather, not plastic or rubber.

Illuminated door sills (and the non-illuminated ones in the rear) were standard in the Touring and Technology packages for 2010. They were available accessories for other packages
