Both DISP and TRIP buttons on steering wheel not working. All other buttons (recirc, temp, mode, stereo, and phone) work fine. Replaced clock spring assembly and steering wheel buttons assembly and still not working. Checked all fuses, no codes. Can’t reset oil “MAINT REQD”. Any help / advice appreciated.

I don't know whether the v (or some trim levels of v) could have the "touch tracer" display feature (where the combination meter shows you what button your finger is on before you push it).

In the Gen 3 liftback, some trims had that and some didn't, and the TRIP and DISP wiring was different, as shown in the wiring diagram:

Without the fancy display (*7), the TRIP and DISP buttons are just simple switches wired straight to the combo meter (AU2 and AU1). With the display (*6), so they wouldn't need to run extra circuits through the spiral cable, they put a microcomputer in the steering wheel, replace AU2 with an IG power source for the computer, and replace AU1 with a single STRG wire where the computer transmits codes for what buttons you're touching or pressing. Clever....

So, to figure out how to troubleshoot the issue you're having, it might be important to pin down which wiring variant you've got, first.
