    Hi All,

The Owner's Manual I obtained with my 2008 Prius showed a 3-step process (on p.396) for separating the cover of the Smartkey fob to access the battery (CR2032) for the unit.

Looks simple, until you try doing it. Having wrestled with it for some time, I eventually gave up, not wanting to damage the plastic housing for the unit.

Is there a secret clip or clevis holding this thing together? From the diagram it looks so simple to do, to get to the battery in the event it needs replacing.

Anyone out there done this on a late model Prius key fob?

    Regards, Ron

It's really easy...where are you stuck?
    Take out the key,
    slide off the cover,
unscrew the screws, open it up...what part is not working for you?

The spring thingy you press to release the key...push it again while removing the cover from the bottom..
