After attending the Film Festival here, came out an noticed a big dent in back bumper- someone hit it and left... :guns:

We were crushed about a ding on the 3 month old baby.
Later we realized the bumper was plastic!

Went to Pep Boys and got a big suction cup for pulling out dings. Heated with blow dryer and "suctioned" some of it out.

    Any other ideas?

Sorry to hear about the ding, but you'll be glad to know that's made of recycled plastic. At least there's that? :)

Someone posted an idea that I think merits consideration: park at the outer end of parking lots, so that you may end up walking further to the store, but your car is out of the mainstream and less likely to be hit by other cars and wayward shopping carts. I've gotten pretty good at finding parking at the airport where I work, on the end of the row so that I am parked on the passenger side of the car next to me with no one parked on my passenger side. Seems silly, probably, but without door guards, it makes sense.

Geez Louise. I really do love my car, but what sort of crap-ola recycled plastic is this bumper made of? I've got scratches on the rear bumper up the ying-yang and my car is only 2 months old. It's the softest plastic ever. I'm afraid if I look at it too hard it's going to cause a scratch. I think it\'s developing a scratch right now as I think about it! At this rate my bumper is going to look like Swiss cheese (or a road map) by the end of the year!

Ok, ok, I know what you're thinking - but really, I am a very very good parallel parker - I get compliments on it from strangers!

Does anyone know just how well the 3M plastic protects the bumper from scratches that (without the film) cause a gouge deep enough to show the BLACK plastic through the WHITE paint?

The base plastic is Black? Ah, another reason I guess I'm glad my car is Black. Maybe the bumper scratches won't show as much.
