I read the post concerning replacing the hatchback switch and other fixes that had been posted. My 2009 Prius hatchback rubber was torn and deteriorating. I had a problem paying the price for a switch just to get the rubber. I bought a 1/8" sheet of neoprene with adhesive back. I removed the switch per instruction I found on the forum. I cleaned the switch with paint thinner. Then I cut the neoprene slightly bigger than the switch. I punched holes in the neoprene for the screws, then removed the backing and put it on the face of the switch and re-installed. It works fine. Since I just did this I cannot tell if it is a permanent fix or not--I hope so.
