I have installed recently a Md tech kit 4kw in my 2004 Prius.
I have the ev button installed but I would like to detect when the car is in the electric mode ( after I pressed the EV mode button ). The goal I want to achieve is to re enable the ev mode automatically when it drops out of Electric mode only. I will use a netduino board to manage all of this.

Can i get this information from the obd port ?

You cannot automatically re-enable EV mode when it drops out unless you plan to spoof lots of data.
As you know there are various reason, some known, some unknown, as to why the car drops out of EV mode.

If you want to force it into non-engine mode, why not simply cutoff fuel to the injectors?
