    hit-n-run, as usual
it's not noticable unless you look at it up close, but as you can see right front bumper shifted a little. when i stopped by dealer today to get that anti-brake recall fixed, i asked for estimate(out of curiosity). $1100~ is what i got :mmph:
im gonna ask for estimates at other places this weekend but damn im mad.

    Sorry to hear that.

It is expensive but definitly get it fixed. 1,100 is dealer quoted price? Are they changing the entire bumper or are they just going to fill it up and respray it?

Bummer dude. You might be able to re-align the front by loosening the bolts and moving it around. Won't help the scratch though.

I've banged up my bumper on my previous car & knocked the bumper / metal alignment out of whack like yours, I just fixed it myself by taking the bumper off and moving the metal pieces that were bent that hold the bumper in place back to where they should be.

$1,100 is ridiculous, unless they are intending to buy a new bumper and paint it over for you. If thats the case, send the old bumper to me so I can keep it as a spare if someday I ruin my own BP white bumper :)

That's the perfect spot for a bumper sticker, badge decal supporting your local police department, coat of arms for your favorite country, Toyota loyality sticker, American flag, pin stripe, workplace parking permit, band-aid, ... . OK, I'm out of ideas, but maybe somebody on this site will suggest something better.

when the bumper on my gen II was damaged, it cost roughly the same.. they get a new bumper shell.. new support bar underneath.. and new foam in between.

if the bar isn't damaged underneath, it cost less... but i think the shell and crush foam underneath cost roughly 800 or so... shell being 600.

Wonder if the optional door 'side molding' would fit across the bumper and cover the bad spots? Might be good for future protection and with adjusting the bumper, a whole bunch less $.

I can relate, today I was REAR ENDED. I have 2 small dents on my bumper now. They are not very deep at all and no paint was scratched off or anything. I was wondering if this could have done an extensive amount of damage under the bumper? I don't believe it did, but I don't want problems later because of it. I'll probably let the dents be.

For point of reference, I have a cracked front bumper and replacing it will run @ $850 or so from a good independent body shop. I have a Blizzard as well.

Kind of makes you long for the days when the purpose of a bumper was preventing body damage from occurring due to a minor impact.

I recently had to replace the entire front bumper. It got caught on something when I pulled out of a parking space and ripped a hole by the fog light.

Anyway, replacing the bumper + paint + labor ran me $719. That should be what you are shooting for. $1000 sounds like they are trying to get more from you than they should imo.

Kind of depends whether they need to fix or replace anything else besides the bumper. In my case they also need to replace one of the panels under the front of the car wihich is also cracked. If there is any damage behind the bumper, that could drive the cost up as well.
