Anyone heard of Toyota having delivery problems to dealers?

My guy said the one he is waiting on that was due on Monday, 04-17-06 is delayed, and he said it was something with a delivery point or a trucking firm going down on them they are trying to reroute.

Is he feeding me a line of BS or what. He is in Lower Michigan.

    thanks,
    Phil

I couldn't say if they are having delivery problems, but mine hit the Port 4-7-06 and it has not arrived at the dealer yet. My salesman says that they have two weeks to get them to the dealer after received at the port.

This wasn't a port delivery date, it was the date the dealer was expecting their shipment on the truck, he said his date range was from 04-10 through 04-17, well today is the 19th and he just told me he has no new date and no truck has come.

I just got another email from him after my drive home from work, and he said that he got a new shipment of cars in today for the first time in 2 weeks, and that they look to have worked our their problems. Said that Toyota did some kind of buy on new trucks and deliveries should start back up again.

I just hope he is not yanking me around because he got a better offer or something.

i think the regional distributor decides whether to hire an indepent company or to get their own fleet. and bad weather, truck problems, etc can definitely slow them down unfortunately.

it's not out of the realm of possibilities.

I just got my Prius on Monday (YAY!) although their estimate was Thursday of last week. This was also with rush delivery because I had to wait 4 months for mine. I don't know how it could possibly take 6 days to get from LA to Phoenix, but they managed to do it in that amount of time. Even after all that, it's well worth the wait. :D

Here in Cleveland (fairly close to lower michigan), i was told it would be here "monday or tues" and it didn't show up until late wed afternoon (although this was 1.5 months ago). You really have to keep in mind that there is only so much the dealer can do, as they don't own the delivery trucks, etc.

The dealer can run a report that tells the status of your Prius. When it comes off the ship and gets loaded on a train the status changes to "F" for freight; when it comes off the train it changes to "G" for ground. Your Prius should come into Chicago by train, so once it goes to ground it is in you back yard.

Thanks for all the replies guys, i was worried my guy was kinda trying to jerk me around since it seems I am getting such a good deal. I thought this might be his way to try and back out of it, but it does not appear that is the case.

As everyone on here knows the waiting is the hardest part, and that is all this is for me, I'm just being paranoid.

    Thanks again,
    Phil
