    c2300 park lock issue
    c2315 park lock issue
    b1421 photo sensor nonsense
b2775 smart key issue - I only have a dumb key that needs to go in the fob slot on dash
b1653 Air bag issue - air bag light is on, I have managed to get it off a couple of times, but it keeps coming back

b1655 driver side seat belt sensor issue
    b1821 more airbag stuff
b1826 driver side squib - more airbag stuff I think
b1271 something wrong in instrument cluster

This is all showing up on a 2005 prius that I have listed for sale. The driver seat is not great, so I am thinking about swapping in a better seat. Maybe that will do away with most of the B codes and turn off the airbag light.

I am doing one thing at a time on this project. I haven't thought much about the park lock code thing yet. The smart key and the instrument cluster codes don't seem like a big deal.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

    Mike

If you were trying to sell it to ME, they all would be "big deals".

Have you checked the 12 V battery and it's main connections yet ?

Yes, everything looks fine at the battery. I have disconnected it a couple of times to see if the airbag light would clear, but no joy.

that would have been great. Did not happen. I may have to do a little youtube study on how to access the airbag module and reset it

That's assuming it isn't telling you the truth, and that you shouldn't just trace the faults it's telling you about and fix those.

Don't you know about the magical "reset" function that can turn off any annoying warning light? I mean that's why the engineers designed the lights in the first place- to coerce innocent car owners into going back to a dealership where they can charge lots to just "reset" the light. Or to quote so much for a "repair" (aka- light reset) that the owner will just trade in the car and buy a new one.

It's not like there is an actual fault with a complex (and aging) electronic system that would have to be diagnosed and repaired. Get real. Next thing you'll tell me is that you need more tooling than google and a Ouija board to figure out what's going on.

What EXACTLY does that mean ?
You can not gauge a batterys health by LOOKING at it.

Is there any chance this vehicle has been wrecked ??

Flooded? Launched into solar orbit with a driver dummy in a spacesuit?

I don't, but that's because my Ouija board came with a multimeter attachment.
