My 2012 Prius V has been diagnosed with a bad hybrid battery after only 67,000 miles.

    The dealer wants $4688 installed!

Is this the same battery as in other Prius models? Same modules
(in which case perhaps i can replace a few?)

Does anyone sell used/reconditioned batteries which will fit this car?

Any hope of getting extended warranty coverage?

Seems like a very early demise. Your location may be an issue with willingness to warranty.

Looking to contact someone at Toyota service upstream of the dealership ... Purchased the car new, would think there could be some consideration here. Otherwise am looking at an outfit called Greentec, battery with all new cells at $1750

Rough. Looks like the warranty is 8 years.

Ah, Right, not a California warranty.

Definitely contact Toyota corporate & see if they will do anything.

Your location may be an issue. Do a search for hybrid repair in your area. I know this does not help but there is a hybrid repair place near Tampa FL. Maybe they can ship you a battery to work with a local installer.

    Check them out.

Green Tech requires that you send your old battery back. That could be $$$
newpriusbatteries.com doesn't want the your old battery. $1600 delivered to your door. and no extra charge for a residence.
