Hello, Can someone tell me what these alerts indicators mean and potentially what might be wrong? 2008 Prius 158K Miles I'm aware of the tire pressure one. Thanks, Tom
Thank you for the minimal information. Idiot lights could be just about anything. A code reader needs to be plugged in to the OBD port to retrieve the codes. Take it to a shop that reads codes for free or buy a scanner.
1. MAINT REQD: Your engine oil/oil filter needs to be changed. This is on an odometer timer and the light comes on at 5K mile intervals. 2. VSC, ((!)): See if the inverter coolant reservoir shows fluid turbulence when the Prius is READY. If it does not, then the inverter coolant pump has failed and this needs immediate attention. If the pump is OK, you need to retrieve the diagnostic trouble codes logged by the skid control ECU. 3 CEL: The engine ECU logged a fault code, use Mini VCI to retrieve this as well as the codes logged by the skid control ECU. 4. Do not ignore the tire pressure indicator. Check all four tires to make sure they are at the correct tire pressure, at least 35/33 psi front/rear. If one or more tires is very low, that could cause problems with the skid control ECU (#2 above.) 5. Master warning red triangle: just alerts you to the presence of a problem.
