The keyway is the same across all Priuses which have mechanical keys from 2001 to the present. All Prius keys are of the "10 position" type (other Toyota models may be using keys of the "8 position" type). However, these "10 position" keys are really "12 position" keys, where positions 11 and 12 encode the Master/Valet mechanical key function (obviously, other things encode the Master/Valet immobilizer key function). Should a key have cutting to levels 2 and 2 in positions 11 and 12, it automatically becomes a Master mechanical key. Should a key have cutting to levels 3 and 3, it automatically becomes a Valet mechanical key. This distinction prevents turning a Valet mechanical key into a Master Mechanical key.
