I have a cool idea IMO for custom paint... stylized flames down the side of the car in dark grey, like that metallic dark grey color that is all the rage now. Then, when you get reasonably close, you can see that the flames are actually filled with an airbrushed circuit board pattern. I am a terrible artist, especially with a trackpoint mouse. I'm actually an EE major at school, so my gEDA gschem/PCB skills are alright, but I was using the gimp for this quick sketch. It could be a graduation present for myself (about a year from now...) to have this airbrushed on the car. I don't really have the resources to have this job done ATM, I would want it done properly, but it is fun to dream! I would want a classic flame shape going about halfway into the back door, not just a random jagged shape on the front fender and door. http://pohl.ececs.uc.edu/~mark/toyota-flames.jpg OTOH, maybe I will move somewhere I can walk/bus/bike to work, and won't need a car at all! I am actually quite fond of the stock wheels, they match the car's somewhat chunky profile, the car's suspension is designed for the wheels' geometry, etc. The other mod I was considering was getting spare headlight housings, gutting them, and putting in multiple small projector lenses. a la the FT-CH concept: Toyota Reveals Dedicated Compact Hybrid FT-CH | PriusChat Any critics?
I don't see any flames in the above link but your car looks dirty. Everyone knows a racing stripe would make it go faster.
I'm made of metal My circuits gleam I am perpetual I keep the country clean I'm elected, electric spy I'm protected, electric eye I have no desire to go faster lol especially coming from a monte carlo this car is way too fast as it is. Seriously, I plan to flesh out a better sketch maybe this weekend. If somebody wants to take this idea and run with it, feel free.
Nutmeg, were you interested in something classy and understated like this "customized" Prius I saw at Costco in Mesa, AZ an hour ago?
