    Hello everyone,

I have a 2012 Prius v that neither the cruise control nor the modes work. I cleaned the switch for modes but no luck. Also the parking brake light doesn’t illuminate on the dash.

Just make sure that the transmission is not selected to B. It wil not function at all in this mode.

    Wait.....WHAT ??
Exactly what will not function if the transmission is in B ?

I suggest checking to be sure that the brake light is not stuck ON, but not sure
that would cause all of the symptoms either.

    What are "modes" ??

In my Gen 1, I could use cruise control in B. In my Gen 3 I cannot; shifting to B immediately cancels cruise, and cruise can't be set for as long as I'm driving in B. So Toyota changed their mind about that somewhere between Gen 1 and Gen 3. I don't personally which side of that Gen 2 falls on (or c, for that matter).

Good Call. I should have specified that I was refering to Gen 3, and it is interesting how that changed throughout the models.
