I have uploaded two images of my invoice from January where they did the routine 6 month inspection and changed the oil and from today when they just did the routine 6 month inspection. I completely don't understand the difference in the prices. I didn't remember the January cost when I checked out today so I didn't know to question the cost. Before I go back to talk to them, I'd like to hear your opinions. Thank you. Jan21 Service bill.jpeg June21 service bill.jpeg

not quite sure what i a looking at. is the first one with oil change a total of $179.?
is the second service without oil change $212.?
if so, something is fishy, but dealers don't often follow toyota's recommended service.

i would look at you maintenance schedule, and ask how much at your next service. bring the schedule with you, tell them nothing more, nothing less.

One thing for sure. You got scammed for the air filters. The filter is $10 (each) at the part department and is replaceable without any tools.

Not the OP, but I fought with the glove box for about 30 mins and finally gave up and paid the dealer. :(

Ok, January seems a little pricey but they actually replaced parts, changed oil, etc.

I don't get the July bill- $212 labor ...for a safety inspection? Don't see mention of 5k oil and filter change. Did you mention any concern that would require them to scan the car for codes? If not then I would be contesting such a charge. (IF they want to scan and turn up something and you want them to look into (but no charge if you don't) that's one thing. If they scan the car "just because they can" and charge you.... Don't see anywhere in Toyota's recommended maintenance where you should just scan the car.)
