Yes, but I would cover it in some way. Even duct tape. Also I would replace it shortly. Not that expensive.
Saran wrap and either Duct Tape or a large zip tie. Do it on the way to the Toyota dealership to order a new cap. If you were here, I'd tell you what jy has them (two of them probably) lying around.
