After extensively reading all the inputs on this subject, especially the great info from both Pat and Rumple from 2008, I have concluded that the following may be the easiest, but not perfect solution. 1- Wait til 100K miles before changing coolant. 2- Do not introduce air into system. 3- Drain coolant by siphoning fluid out of resevoirs (will not be perfect, but that's OK) 4- Attempt same method to partially empty radiator, if this does not work, then open radiator drain carefully and air pressure equaliser valve ( air bleed valve ) on top of radiator. As soon as flow slows or stops, close valves. Then fill radiator, inverter and overflow to prescribed levels. DO NOT turn on engine OR acessory mode during this procedure. After completion take car for a test drive, the visual and auditory inputs on the inverter pump should be identical, as described previously by Pat. This could be done once a year, each time refreshing the potency of the SLLC Coolant. Since the coolant replacement is not always done perfectly by the Toyota mechanics, and both Toyota and DTY's are only refreshing 6 qts out of 9 qts this may be a suitable method. DO use only LLC or SLLC coolant for the sake of the plastics in the system, ( especially the pump ) You'll probably have enough coolant left for the next year or three. Also, the job can be done faster than it took me to write this.:) PS For extra precaution DO research all previous post on subject.
