Compared to the Prius 3rd gen
    Scored 80 out of 100
    0 to 30 mph, sec. 3.7
    0 to 60 mph, sec. 10.6
    45 to 65 mph, sec. 6.3

    CR's city/highway, mpg 32 / 55
    CR's 150-mile trip, mpg 53

In general, they loved the transmission, cargo area, visibility, braking. They thought the engine was somewhat strained and the interior materials were a mixed bag (liked the leather covered dash, disliked the headliner).

Overall, the review was quite good with a lot of good info for potential buyers. I haven't purchased my v yet, but I'm feeling pretty good about it. :)

I won't be purchasing until the summer at the earliest. I'll need it before August, though, because my wife and I are expecting our first then. :) I just need to test drive the Camry hybrid first to ensure that I want the extra cargo space instead of the 200hp.

And here is most of CR's road test summary:
"...despite its larger size, the efficient gas-electric hybrid powertrain still gets an excellent 41 mpg overall, only 3 mpg less than the hatchback. That combination gives the Prius V a blend of versatility and fuel economy that no other vehicle can match. But the engine sometimes feels overworked, and handling, while secure, is not agile. Still, the V's overall road-test places it among our top-scoring wagons."

Is that city number right for Gen 3? Most fuel-efficient cars says 32 city.

Anyhow, those Prius v FE numbers are pretty good. That overall mileage is higher than the '12 HCH and the Insight.

There's a road test at [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AE-pE3bXhAk&annotation_id=annotation_197918&feature=iv"]Toyota Prius V review from Consumer Reports - YouTube[/ame] which is much newer than the one posted by Fstr911. I recommend watching both.

You're right. It should be 32 for the 3rd gen Prius.

I was just about to post this news but looks like I was beaten to the punch. Since I have a v3, I was especially interested in what CR had to say and I think their assessment matches mine very closely. I really really like the interior room and the great airy, open feeling from having large windows.

If you drive with a slightly lighter foot, it ought not to be too hard to beat the 41 mpg they report. Take a look at my actual milage on fuelly: Silver Prius v (Toyota Prius v) | Fuelly

I am currently getting 42.8 mpg - this includes every single fillip that I have done since I bought the car.

The panel right behind the steering wheel and directly in the middle of the IP in front of the passenger seat is some soft fabric that is leather-like. :)
