I purchased a portable jumper battery/recharger and discovered that the cable clips cannot connect to the short positive terminal post under the hood. (I wonder why Toyota made the post short and recessed, making it difficult to attach.) Anyway, does anyone know of a screw-on post extender, or the diameter of the positive post? Perhaps I can rig a screw-on adapter if I knew the post thread size. Thanks.

I just change the +ve clip to a Mueller #60C solid copper type. Available at electronics parts suppliers. The current isn't high so a smaller clip is fine. If you do this be sure to also get the clip cover to ensure you can't zap something. ;)

The short recessed post is not the charging terminal. The charging terminal is the shiny metal tab immediately aft of the threaded "post". The threaded post is the fitting on the end of the cable that connects to the battery +12v. Also note that the metal tab is backed by plastic on its aft side so that electrical contact is made only from the forward side.
