My 02 Prius (106,000 miles) has been draining the 12 V auxiliary battery when parked more than 1-2 days and then always needs a jump-start. I thought at first it needed a new battery, which I did, but that didn't solve the problem. Took it to the dealer to deal with the recent Power Steering recall and asked them to check for a power drain. Dealer says it's the Combination Meter that needs to be replaced for $620. Is this something that your average generic repair shop can fix for less money or should I leave it with the dealer? Thanks in advance for any feedback!
