I have a Toyota Prius 2006, which i believe the combination meter is going bad or already gone. It started about 6 months ago, and at first the car wouldn't turn off randomly, or it would randomly not show the odometer. Then about 2 months ago it got worse, where it was happening more often, i learned that i could disconnect the battery to fix it, and it did for a while. Now it's happening every week or so and i think it's time to replace it. The car has 160k miles on it, and still on the original hybrid battery, so i think i'll need one of those soon too. What's the cheapest way to replace/repair it? I'm near Lathrop, CA if that matters.
There is a guy that rebuilts them. He is on here You will have to take your dash apart though. There are videos showing how to do this. I suggest you look at them and see if you can do it
@Texas Hybrid Batteries is the user and Matt is his name. You can always look up at the Rancho Cordova recyclers for replacement meters (HP Motors has many Prii). Then do the swap .
