[font=Arial:fd8f443ed1][/font:fd8f443ed1]Is there any other Prius owners in CO that have purchased their Prius before 2004, and are now receiving a bill from the State of Colorado wanting, almost half of the refund that you received in the past two years, back?

So I take it that we have no choice in the matter? I did write to Al White, the state representitive for my area, but no response as of 5:00pm. I also wrote to Tom Martino, and again just waiting for a response. If I hear of anything that we can do I will be sure to post it on this site.
I do already have both copys of the FYI report( as well as the one I did my taxes from).
    Thank you Nate.
I am glad to hear that I am not the only one. Maybe if enough of us raise a stink, maybe the little guy could win for a change.

The FYI notice seems pretty clear. What reason did they use on the bill for not honoring the credit?

I expect my car in the next few weeks and would certainly like to be able to count on my $3400+ tax credit next spring.

I'd also like a few more details. I thought that the tax credit was an absolute. It seems very clear on the web site. What reasons are given for denying it? I am very willing to contact my State Representative and State Senator if it will help. I definitely want to take advantage of that for 2005.

For those of you that purchased or are purchasing now are OK for the rebates. The people that we are refering to are those that bought their Priuses before 2004. We started out getting as much as $5000 or $6000 back, spead over the next 5yrs. I think that most of us received the first 2yrs and now the gov is asking/demanding about half of the money that we got back, because they decided to change the rules in April of 2005. If any of you would like to write your representitive, Please do so. I am going to have to deplete most of my savings and cut back on what I am helping with my son, who is in aviation college, to make the bill from them.
Again, those of you that are buying a Prius now, you are not being affected by this recall of rebates. Just be worned if it happened this time, who's to say it wont happen again!

I'm mad because I found that it was a tax credit against what you paid in taxes (for 2004).. being retired and not paying taxes, I couldn't get the money... it was how I justified (dreamer) the #9 option package... easy come easy go...lol

Boba, you have NO income tax? You can take the tax credit going forward up to five years if you do have some income.

Just a Quick note to let all know that Al White, my representitive ask for any paper work that was used to justify the credit that I was looking for, and he would take it directly to the people that put this whole thing together. I sent it to his last friday, but know response as of this date. At least he is giving the impression that it will be looked at.

Do not get me wrong, I love my prius. To date I am getting around 50mpg on trips around the county, and 54-57mpg on the interstate(depending on which direction I am traveling east or west). I get 56mpg going back and forth to denver, over Berthoud pass, on a regular basis. Then in the summer I ride an electric scooter back and forth to work( aprox 1 mile one way), this allows me to fillup the Prius once a month whether I need to or not. My last tank went 461 miles on 9 gals of fuel.
