I purchased this at the end of March, 2012, and used it in my 2004 Toyota Prius until it was totaled in July 2017. According to the manufacturer's website, this item is able to "open up all functions and menus of the navigation system which are locked out when the vehicle is in motion, including DESTINATION INPUTS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION."
