I took the car into the dealer for the steering recall (2001), and to change the inverter coolant (since I had heard of troubles getting all of the air out of the system)...Figured I would just pay the 150.00. Turns out that they changed the inverter coolant along with the engine coolant...all for $150.00.

After driving it for several days (about 500 or less miles) I notice a "click".
To me it sounds like some sort of backlash between the wheels and the engine/motor/whatever.

I changed the ATF (with Toyota fluid) in the trans-axle about a week ago...the sound was not evident after that. After the dealer did the recall the sound was evident...
Could they have forgotten to do something, or not properly aligned something, or whatever when they did the steering recall??

Don't know if it has anything to do with it, but a couple of weeks ago I did brake pads on the front...no noise after that either.

Thanks for all of the help.

Went back to the dealership...And talked to a "Hybrid Master Mechanic"...He drove the car about 200 feet and was able to tell me exactly what the problem was...An engine mount that was not tightned properly during the recall on the steering...

I was VERY IMPRESSED with the Master Mechanic....great job Toyota Of Greenville (SC).

He also taught me a whole lot about the car, it's systems, and best working of a whole lot of stuff (being that this is my first hybrid)...I actually met someone that taled more than me!!!
