"Click/clunk" sound when I hit the gas after letting go... what is the source of this noise?

So when I let go of the gas, and hit the gas again, I can hear a "click/clunk" noise as power goes to the wheels. Sounds like it's coming from the front. Anyone experience something similar and find out what it was? Or is this too vague?

I always assumed that it was a contactor (big relay) opening or closing when going from regen to power to the wheels.
You do know that it doesn't HAVE "gears" like a conventional transmission........right ??

It pays not to assume. No relays involved in OP's post. I'm not really even sure of what you're thinking relay-wise. I would take a look at the lower engine mount.

It might depend on how sensitive your hearing IS.......and what you consider "abnormal".

My C has done that occasionally since new; both of them actually.
But the noise I hear/feel might not be the same as what he is asking about.

Regardless of what kind of drive train you are dealing with, there should be some "slack" in the drive mechanism.
Going from engine braking to engine power might make a noise in any vehicle........if you catch it just right.

Some assumptions end up being right........and some wrong.
