Looks dangerous to me. And you need to find a CNG station to fill it up at.

Daniel, it's probably less dangerous than 90% of the cars and 100% of bikes in ND. [Broken External Image]:http://www.smailiki.nm.ru/nac/nac02.gif

More dangerous than motorcycles, certainly. More dangerous than cars? I doubt it.

The article shows a list of other efficient "mini" cars under a picture. I've been told that one of the listed cars, the Mercedes Swatch "SMART" will be available for sale in Canada starting next year.

I wonder if it's a co-incidence that there is one small car out there called the SMART and another on the way called the CLEVER. Probably not. Maybe some of the same people are involved in both?

Swatch has had nothing to do with the Smart anymore.

Swatch and Daimler had a disagreement about the Smart and Swatch pulled out in 1998.
What happened is that Daimler (contrary to the original plan of 1994) refused to include pure electro and electro-diesel hybrid power plants into smart line-up.

    What is smart?
smart gmbh (www.smart.com) is a business unit of DaimlerChrysler located in Böblingen, Germany. In 2002, 122,300 smart cars were sold with total sales of 1.1 billion euro. smart is currently available in almost 30 markets throughout the world. After launching the smart city-coupé in 1998, smart is now on its way to becoming a multi-product brand. In 2004 the new four-seater smart forfour will be launched and a SUV version will be produced in the Brazilian facility, Juiz de Fora, start of 2006. This unique smart vehicle, developed for the American market, will go on sale in the United States in 2006.

Will the whole model range of smart cars be available in the USA?
We plan to launch a variant of the smart forfour onto the US-American market in 2006. However we are not planning to introduce the current model range (smart city-coupé, cabrio, crossblade, roadster, roadster-coupé) and smart forfour there. Decisions will be reached concerning each specific vehicle in relation to the US launch of future smart models which could be available on the market after 2006.

P.S. CLEVER (Compact Low Emission Vehicle for Urban Transport) is natural gas-powered and apparently has no relation to smart.

    My pleasure...

I don't particularily like smart (it's too small and too expensive in Europe for what it is), but think that it'll be good for you in North Amêrica to have bigger choice of smart city cars ...

Like this one (in production currently), for example:

The SMART is kinda cute. But I REALLY want a t-zero. I wish AC Propulsion would get its act together and market it.
