Try some of the cloths they use for eyeglasses. Miro Cloths work well, if you need a little cleaner, spray the cloth not the screen.

    Jon,

I had the same question not long after I bought my Prius. I came here and posted a similar question. Here is the link to my post. There are plenty of helpful responses in the thread.

In the end, I've just decided to use the same stuff I use for my eyeglasses -- including the microfiber cloth.

    Hope this helps!

After it is clean (assume you can use window cleaner) put a heavy-duty, clean piece of clinging clear plastic over it cut to fit like Renyolds Wrap.
It works great and seems to resist fingerprints.

Turn off the screen before you clean it, otherwise you end up with a bunch of unwanted button pushes.

I was sooo ticked off with myself one fine day when listening to the radio before shutting the car off to go to the office. Bothered by the dust, I started to clean the screen (dry cloth for sunglasses) absentmindedly while listening to the news. Sure enough, I ended up switching to the consumption screen and pressing reset. Aaaargh!! Fortunately, I had paid attention to the numbers when first coming to a stop.

I'm a big fan of the products from Klear Screen:
Klear Screen - LCD & Plasma Screen Cleaner

I've used their cleaners on my PowerBook G4 for 6+ years now, and it still looks as good as new.

For day-to-day cleaning, I have a microfiber cloth that I use to pick up simple dust, or dampen with a bit of water to wipe out fingerprints; I only use the Klear Screen stuff about once every other month.

Monster iClean Screen Cleaner. Works great! I also use it on my flat panel televisions, digital cameras, laptop and both flat panel monitors on my main computer. I've tried many products and this works best for me. Bought it at Radio Shack, but it's available online from eBay and numerous other sites.

This is what I do when the car is on: turn off stereo (if it's on), switch to audio screen, which says only that the stereo is off and has no buttons to push. This prevents me pushing unwanted buttons.

Some owners may not realize that it is unnecessary to touch the MFD with a fingertip, which leaves a print. Rather, you can touch the MFD with the back of your fingernail which will not leave a print and will reduce the need to clean the MFD.

When it is necessary to clean the MFD, I just use a Kleenex moistened with a bit of water.

On my other GPS, it came with a pencil like plastic stick that would leave no print marks at all. I think that it should be the same for this MFD.

You should be able to use just about anything besides you finger to operate the screen. I have used popsicle sticks, straws and even a dairyqueen plastic spoon on the MFD. Saves removing finger prints every other day.

By the way these items were only used to test the screen not that I would use just anything... lol

There is an LCD protector, a sheet of plastic, which you can get to cover the monitor screen. Thought I had it bookmarked, now I can't find it. I plan to get it and really recommend it.

I have a hand held game with a touch screen, it has the plastic stick, and STILL the touch screen got all scratched up! I eventually got the protector, wixh I had bought that sooner.

Wear gloves while driving. This keeps the MFD clean and prevents buildup of skin shmutz on the steering wheel. Leather gloves are more comfortable than cloth.

Try www "dot" nushield "dot" com (I'm apparently not allowed to post URL's yet). I put one on my new '08 #6 Touring and it was a snap.

Just use some thin, clear vinyl. Available at Wally World (Wal-Mart) in the fabric section. Buy a yard for about $2-3, cut to fit, then place on a freshly cleaned screen. It's got just enough static to cling.
