    Hey guys,

I just finished installing Clazzio seat covers on my Prius and wanted to share my experience. In short, I think they are very well worth the $500. They are very easy to install, looks great, and of very high quality (made in Japan). I even got Clazzio to do a custom order in Ivory so it matches my Taupe interior (standard colors are black and tan). I also had them send me extra so that I can do the door panel arm-rests on my own.

The complete kit comes with seat covers for the front and rear seats, front and rear arm rests, and all 5 head covers as well. The install takes several hours and I'm confident most will think they are factory leather unless they really "examine" the seats. I feel they are a great value and good alternative for those who do not want to spend $$$ to get their interior professional upholstered by an expert.

Here are some pics. Feel free to ask if you have questions.

Looks nice. What was the install process? Do they require removing the cloth first or do they just go right on over the top?

They are seat covers, so they go right over the top. They are fitted very well and are made to fit very snug. It's a DIY but I did manage to get some cuts and strained/sprained a few fingers because its such a tight fit. They do come out looking very nice though.

How tough was it to remove and replace the bottom of the back seat? I'm glad you got the Ivory! I've been looking for someone you installed the Ivory covers because I felt they were the best match as well. It's hard to see in your pictures, but how close is it? Can you take a picture of the door jamb area or somewhere else you you can really see the covers and the original interior trim side by side? I may be ordering mine soon! Thanks...

Pulling the bottom of the back seat is easy once you know where to pull. It's a bit stiff so it feels like you might break something, but you won't. Feel along under the front edge until you find where it's obviously tightly bound, get your fingers under it and pull up sharply. It just pops free. There's two of these points. Keep lifting the front edge up and you'll notice the hooks in the back pull clear of the metal "hinges" in the crease.

Thanks! Just placed an order for the Ivory seats with Black stitching. Thought it might help pull the black and beige together a bit in that eclectic interior! Got them on-line from Sparks Toyota for $449.10 w/free shipping. They will be a Christmas present from my wife, so it may be a while before I get them installed and can post pictures!

Pual58, that sounds like a good combination. It will make a great X-mas present!

I forgot to mention in my original posts that my "custom ivory color" order took about 12 weeks to receive once ordered. Not sure how long your order will take but just a heads up.

    Enjoy!

Yep, noticed that right after I hit the submit button! Oh well, hopefully they will be worth the wait! I also noticed no refunds on special orders, so if they don't look good, I'll either learn to live with them or they'll be up on eBay! LOL! I did consult my wife before submitting the order to see what she thought and she liked the idea as well. She has more fashion sense than I do, and I trust her judgement!

    Azi,

Those look good. I'm still glad I did a full fabric remove and replace with Katzkins but those are the best looking seat covers I have seen.

After a week of installing the seat-covers, they became better! Once the stretching of the covers break in over the seats, they became more "uniform" and smooth, making it look even more like real leather upholstery seats.

The only thing I don't like is that in the back of front seat-covers, there is a small label that comes out of the seam that says "Clazzio." It's there for advertising obviously!

It's good to know they smooth out over time. The part I noticed that looked a little funky were the front seat headrest covers. That part doesn't look very OEM because you can see the flaps where you attach it together. Other than that, looks awesome.

One time, I saw a Prius with Maroon Leather seats in front of me. I would very much be interested in those. Anyone have an idea where they sell maroon ones?

Does anybody have the link to Katzkin's maroon and "bazillion other colors?" Their website seems very limited. They don't even seem to offer leather for the Gen II anymore.

Am I going to the right site???

Wow, those turned out great! Will the seat mounted side airbags still deploy?

Maybe so, but it would still make me nervous that they would get hung up.

If these covers replaced the current covers, I'd be less worried. Because the way it is now instead of just one layer of fabric the bag has to blow through, there are two layers.

Unfortunately, there is nothing certain in life.. except death and taxes.

Suggest you try Katzkin. They'll be just like factory leather.
