Just a quick note to let everyone with a Classic Prius know that the Toyota 08635-28020 TV control unit used in the Estima as mentioned in Mike Brosnan's original MFD input PDF file works perfectly in the Classic.

Because the HSD Prius uses slightly different AVC-LAN syntax, Mike's use of the module in the HSD Prius required a Toyota NAV present and leaving the AVC-LAN terminals unconnected. I surmised that the Estima, being contemporary with the Classic, had a good chance of sharing the same generation of AVC-LAN components, and I was right- the module is "plug and play" in the Classic: you do not need a Toyota NAV in order get video input, just this box- it correctly addresses the MFD to change video input on its own. Now, as noted in Mike's PDF, the display is in monochrome, but the lack of color can be addressed using an external video converter box or by implementing Mike's color hack. So if you have a Classic, the above module can be used as a basis for aux. video input or a reversing camera!!

A big thank-you goes out to Frenchie for providing the module!

Great news there,..does the Toyota 08635-28020 TV control unit accommodate an audio input also?
