The other day on my way home form work the check engine light came on in my 2002. So I stopped at autozone and they told me it was a P01436 but they didn't know what that meant. I went home and looke it up, it is the HCAC valve is stuck. Saturday afternoon I jacked it up and lubed it with some never-seeze. It is not stuck. I turns very smooth. But the check engine light still hasn't gone off.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Mike

Is your gas cap on tight? How many on/off cycles have you made since checking the valve?

The gas cap was tight. It was probably just a couple on/off cycles short of clearing the light. The light went off just a few trips later that evening.

    Thanks,
    Mike

If you disconnect the 12V battery negative terminal for a few minutes, that will also clear existing DTC. Glad you were successful lubricating the valve, however that part gets quite hot so we'll see how long the lubricant lasts before it burns off.
