I have lots of experience from upgrading my own 2008 prius on cheap aliexpress leds
i have tested many cheap leds from aliexpress and created this guide to help the next guy out, i have learned a lot from pruischat and i would like to give back.
there are many bad cheap leds on aliexpress and a few good ones, many cheap leds last for 100 hours and then die, all prices were quoted in Canadian dollars shipped

Here are the good ones that were 6k white i would recommend for lifespan, cost, and brightness:

#A: $4.98 for 10 pieces, excellent general purpose omidirectional leds for 194/168 replacement, very bright, long lifepspan, only downside is it is not compatible in rear red tail light possibly due to canbus or not enough resistance detected
install in front parking lights (white)
install in front side marker (corner orange)
install in driver and passenger door lights
    install in map light
install in license place light (if you want less bright license place install #B)
10Pcs T10 W5W Led Bulb 194 168 Car Interior Dome Reading Lamp License Plate Light Clearance 6000K White 12V Auto Led Bulb-in Signal Lamp from Automobiles & Motorcycles on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group

#B: $3.33 for 10 pieces, 194/168 replacement, medium brightness but brighter than stock, unknown lifepsan as i just got them
install in tail light (rear bottom red, #A does not work here)
10pcs/Lot Canbus T10 8smd 2835 LED car Light Canbus W5W t10 led canbus 194 2835 SMD Error Free White Light Bulbs-in Signal Lamp from Automobiles & Motorcycles on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group

#C Fog Light (on touring models) 9006 (I bought the orange 66SMD version its about 1100 lumens, long lasting and less watts used, brighter than stock fogs, $6 shipped)
Yellow/Amber 9006 HB4 63 SMD 66 SMD Car Driving Fog LED Bulb Lamp Lens Bright Than 33 SMD Light White Red Ice Blue-in Car Headlight Bulbs(LED) from Automobiles & Motorcycles on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group

#D Back up light 7440 $5.08 for a pair, 6k white, brighter than stock, works great
2x 12V 24V Super Bright Canbus LED T16 W16W 921 T15 45 Led Bulb 7440 White Yellow Red ERROR Free for Backup Lamp Reverse Light -in Signal Lamp from Automobiles & Motorcycles on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group

    #E Dome light DE3175
    Trunk/Cargo area DE3022
dims fine, very bright, long lasting, $2.40 for two
    2pcs 1.25'' 31mm DE3175 DE3021 DE3022 6428 7065 LED Festoon Car Interior Lights 5630 Chipsets Aluminum CanBus Error Free Car Led-in Signal Lamp from Automobiles & Motorcycles on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group

High & low beam headlamp HID-D4R (aukee led amazon bulb #9003 ~$40, see further down the road at night, uses less power)

Rear & Front turn signal 992 (7440A) (gen 2 prius not compatible with LEDS left these alone)

Cost roughly $60 for a total led makeover for your gen 2 prius

A trend i noticed is that the brighter and longer lasting LEDs tend to use 2825 led chips instead of 3014 or other chips

    Thank you for posting.

Question : How does one go about discerning if the product actually contains these 2825 chips?

And so as not to confuse anyone, there is also a 2825 bulb type which is aka :
    194 = W5W W3W 147 152 158 159 161 168 184 192 193 259 280 285 447 464 501 555 558 585 655 656 657 1250 1251 1252 2450 2652 2821 2921 2825 PC 175 2886X

I was referring to 2825 led chip form factor not the 2825 halogen bulb

I completely understood what was explained about the 2825 chips being brighter and longer lasting.

Though I thought it important in the moment to differentiate the chips from the bulbs, in hindsight I shouldn't have mentioned the 194/T10/W5W/2825 (etc), as bulb and chip confusion has now ensued. Since we've gone in that direction, was the "2825 led" a typo, when a 2835 form factor might've been meant ? (check link below for common LED form factors)

My husband is going to order LEDs for our car. Tell me, as an expert, will it work for us, and will it blow on the very first day?

Any longevity updates on the replacement #B leds?

Also, the links to #C and #E appear to be either discontinued or out-of-stock. Any recommendations for suitable alternatives?

    Thanks!
