Changing out the Daytime Running Light assembly 2015 Persona

    Someone backed into my Daytime Running Light (DRL) on my drivers side. It has cracked the plastic so the lights inside are exposed to the elements now. The whole assembly is sold as one piece from the dealership for $290 dollars ( I am sure cheaper elsewhere too).

    Question is......Does anyone have any knowledge of how it is applied?
    Is it Plug n Play?
    "Pop" right in from the front of the bumper?
    Have to be put in behind the bumper?

    Does bumper have to be removed?

    Isn't the DRL part of the turn signal assembly? I believe they're about $100 on eBay.

    If there's no damage to the surrounding bumper cover, it will be a simple remove and replace.

    It can be done from below the front end, but it is easier if you remove the bumper cover.

    Well, I know on the 2011 Prius:

    The outermost bolt that holds the underside spoiler onto the bottom of the bumper cover also goes through the front of the fender liner. Remove that bolt, and a couple of plastic push in rivets then you can pull the front of the fender liner down to get to the turn signal/DRL housing. Either unplug the wires from the bulbs or remove the bulbs with the wires still attached. There is either 1 screw or 1 nut holding the turn signal housing in place. Look on the back of the new one and it will either have a threaded post for the nut or a threaded hole for the screw. Take off that screw or nut and the whole housing pretty much pushes out the front of the bumper cover. There are three tabs that hold it in, but they really don't do much.
