Hi: Maybe I'm missing something here, but I can't figure out how to change the default unlocking setting. I have a number 7, SE/SS system. According to what I read in the manual, the default setting for the door unlock is; Approaching driver's door: driver door only unlocks Approaching either the front pass door or trunk: all doors unlock I'd like to have all the doors unlock when I approach the driver's door. (the number 2 setting, in sequence of changes, pg.30 in manual). When I did what I thought the manual said to do (depress the lock symbol and the panic button simultaneously for five seconds with the car off), nothing changed. If any of you enlightened beings can help me out, I'd appreciate it. I'd also welcome suggestions from un-enlightened beings. B
I had problems with this, too, at first. Hold those buttons for a little longer until you hear a beep. That should do it. Also, I think i started with the doors unlocked. Hope that helps.
I'll third that. We just bought a 2011 Prius Four that still had the factory default settings. Even on the third gen, the procedure works (I heard the confirmation beeps within 5 seconds). Thank you folks. We now have a 2012 v Five and the new to us 2011 Prius Four. I drove the Four back home from a Dallas dealer (670 miles) and it performed perfectly. For the curious, the car was averaging 48 to 52 MPG near Dallas, driving in heavy 30-65 MPH traffic, then down to 44.5 MPG along the Texas long stretches at 80 MPH.
This option can also be changed via Techstream if you have a Mini-VCI cable (or are willing to buy one - $15-20 and is one of the best diagnostic tools for a Prius).
