I am due for new tires, but don't want to spend a lot of money on them because I'm going to be either selling or trading in my 2008 Prius soon to buy a new car. I called discount tires, and they recommended that I put Champiro Ice Pro tires on my car, because although "they are cheap, they actually aren't that bad of a tire", especially for the upcoming winter. Is this true? Has anybody had any experience with this tire? Or will people not want to buy the car if I have these tires? Thanks, Chuck
Do you like your Prius? Will you be replacing it with another Prius? If so, get good tires and use them on your new car.
I like my Prius, but I like the 2017 Volt better than the new Prius. That's what I will be buying, hopefully at the end of the year if I get a good enough deal. I didn't have any feedback on the new tires, and only had limited time on my day off; so I went ahead and got the Champiro IcePro tires. I had some longer drives already on them, and although the handling on dry pavement feels a lot different, with combination of highway/city driving I was averaging 50 MPG, so my mileage didn't take a hit because of the tires. I bet once roads are slippery it will be much better to drive than what I was used to before with my all season Ecopia tires.
