Cd player ceased working. Readout: "CD check" stays on screen. no CDs will play. Not a fuse. ??

I have this same problem, "Check CD" Any suggestions?

 

mine does not say anything on the display but wont load cds when you press load the leds flash orange and it does not feed anything, I can hear a motor spinning inside

try disconnecting the 12v for a few minutes?

 

since the oem sound system sucks anyway, aftermarket replacement is the way to go. and I always burn copies of CDs so there is no chance of getting a good one stuck or damaged by a malfunctioning head unit. if the copy gets stuck, no big deal.

 

My 2004 Prius had problems with CD's having "Read" problems and getting stuck in the player. A working salvaged unit only solved the problem for a few months. The permanent fix was going to a car stero shop and installing a good 3rd party stereo unit.

If it were the fuse it wouldn't even work at all.

Another issue is not use labels on CD's especially the full size ones as if youhave a CD stacker unit it will increase the depth of the stack and cause the CD's to not eject/load within the Multi CD player.
