My 80-year old mom has a Gen II Prius. At one in the morning, the police rang her doorbell and asked if she knew that the hazard lights were flashing on her car. The officer then asked her if she was missing a cat. Turns out, my mother's cat somehow got into the car when she was unloading groceries that morning. The cat had been locked in the car all day (luckily a cool, fall day) and managed to turn on the hazard lights. The police saw the lights flashing and were surprised to see the cat in the car when they investigated with their flashlights. This is a very smart cat. Polite, too. He obviously didn't want to wake everyone up by using the horn. Anyone else have pets activate things in a Prius?
Unfortunately no, I've never had anything petted or activated while in my Prius... oh, sorry, misread the question! - D
I thought about letting my dog drive on long trips so I could get some sleep. But when I realized she would keep her head out the window the MPG was going to suffer. I just couldn't rest knowing my mileage was going down so I scrapped that plan.
The cat isn't so smart, he could have just pulled the door handle and opened the door. I guess the cat didn't want to leave the car unsecured all night, unless he could get into the house to use the remote to lock the car again. The question begging to be asked, did the cat soil the interior? Eeewwwww!
I keep having to tell the Cats, if your going to use the car to get beer, you had damn well better bring enough for me. Or else NO MORE Prius Privilges And not that "Tuna Beer"
