Would anybody be interested in participating in car shows/meets with more than just hybrid vehicles? I'm sure "customization" probably wouldn't the first thing that comes to anyone's mind when "hybrid" is mentioned, so opportunities such as these could help shed its stodgy image, and hopefully also spread the environmentally-responsible message. there's a Toyota/Lexus show hosted by Downey/Penske Toyota on 3/22/08, with food catered by In-n-Out; cost to enter is $6, which will go towards raffle prizes. Judges will award trophies for the best in class but in order to qualify for our own hybrid/Prius class there will need to be at least 5 cars. (Needless to say, the dealer has generated quite a few sales from it, and we could even help push a few Prii as well.)
Art goes to most all of the car shows locally- with his Prius - he has custom dual pipes, enamaled engine, stripes and even a custom front bra with a cut-out for his car pool sticker. Here is a picture at the Orange County Prius Club summer picnic. (ocprius.com)
